Who’s Who in Denville

Nicholas A. Picciano
A Teacher’s Odyssey in the Denville Schools
airing on Cablevision Public Access Channel 21
Wednesday, June 23 2010 7:00-7:30PM

In the 1930/1931 Denville Herald newspaper there was a section called “Who’s Who in Denville” where outstanding residents of the township were written about. So I thought that would be a good title for a Denville TV Cablevision show where remarkable residents of our town, today, would be interviewed. The first such remarkable person I would like to present, on this Cablevision Show, is Denville resident Nicholas Picciano, a man of many facets. The first show of Nick, created from over two hours of interviewing on video, focuses on Nick’s teaching experiences in the Denville School system, from 1955 to the 1970’s. In the 1970’s Nick progressed onto becoming a guidance counselor. And in the 1980’s Nick moved upward to the position of Vice Principal, and at times, a standing in Principal, a position he carried out until his retirement in 1990. This show should be fascinating, as Nick reveals his secrets in teaching.
In the last couple of weeks new shows have been uploaded on Denville Youtube channel; http://www.denvilletv.com:
1. Strings Spring Concert 2010
2. Denville Bike Rodeo 2009 (to promote Bike Rodeo 2010…that occurred on June 10 2010, which I hope to upload shortly on Youtube.)
3. Memorial Day Ceremony 2010 Part 1 Phyllis Vialard, sec of the Rockaway, Marcella and Denville Memorial Association gives a beautiful opening speech.
4. Memorial Day Ceremony 2010 Part 2 Denville Mayor Ted Hussa’s Memorial Day Speech
