Denville TV blog is coming out of slumber. Spring is blooming (despite the frigid temperatures the first week of April) and so is Denville blooming with activities starting with the Month of April. These are the following April activities from April 6, 2016:

Saturday April 9, 2016 Rid Litter Day 8:00 am to 11:00 am at Gardner Field

Sunday April 10, 2016 a Memorial Dedication Ceremony at 1:00PM at Gardner Field Pavilion, memorializing the sacrifice of Robert D Kearney. Robert Kearney,  along with 128 shipmates, perished on the US.S Thresher SSN 553 Navy Submarine. Sponsored by Denville American Legion Post 390, Denville Rotary Club, Ladies Auxiliary Unit 390 Denville, SAL Unit 390, Denville PBA #142, Eagle Scout Jack Tucker and Denville Boy Scout Troop 17.

Sunday April 10, 2016 MacDowell Recital Series Presents the Madison String Quartet at Franciscan Oaks (19 Pocono Road next to St Clare’s Hospital) at 3:00 PM
MacDowell concerts are always free but donations are appreciated. Mozart Quintet in G Minor will be performed.

Monday- Friday (April 11-15th) Volunteer Week Dining to Donate at the Red Hut Diner in Rockaway.  20% of your check will be donated to support the scholarship fund for the Woman’s Club of Denville/ Rockaway. Must present coupon at time of ordering meal. Coupons available at restaurant.

Friday     April 15, 2016  Kiwanis Fish & Chips (and chicken fingers) dinner at the Community Methodist Church 5-7PM.  Eat in or take out.

Saturday April 16, 2016  PRIDE blood drive at Town Hall

Wednesday April 20, 2016 Rotary Blood drive at St. Francis

Thursday April 21, 2016 St. Mary’s Prep Tricky Tray at the Villa, 5PM

Friday April 20, 2016  Denville Seniors Dinner prepared, hosted and served at Morris County School of Technology at noon.

Saturday April 21, 2016  Little League opeing day & Parade.  10:00 am Parade starts in Downtown Denville.

Friday April 29, 2016   VFW Post #2519 located at 71 Ford Road in Denville from 3 PM to 7 PM, is hosting an open house for all Morris County Veterans as well as offering  free ID cards to honorably discharged  Morris County Veterans and an Operation Give Back Discount card, allowing discount at over a 100 places in Morris County. ( This is being done in conjunction  with Office of the Morris County Clerk. One form of identification proving Morris County residency and the original or certified copy of the DD 214 discharge papers needed. If need be, a proof of  legal name change from the name found on the discharge document, such as a marriage certificate, is needed.)

Happy Hanukkah to All

This Sunday Eve commences the celebration of Hannukah, lighting the Hannukiah (Hanukkah Menorah) for eight nights. It is the Jewish Holiday that commemorates the Freedom of religion. Communities thru out the United States, as well as the world, will enjoy township Menorah lighting.
Denville lighting of the Menorah will take place on Tuesday, December 8 at 5:00 PM opposite the Walgreens’ Shopping Center.
The DCTV chairperson, meanwhile, will enjoy the Fountain Hills Menorah Lighting,tonight, in the center of town. (For more info. go to http://www.JewishFountainHills.com)
Denville TV wishes all a Happy, Enlightening and Peaceful Hannukah.
Let us support the Chabad and Jews in Paris in the lighting of their city Menorahs.
And let us light the Menorahs with those in mind, who do not have the freedom to light the Hanukkah Menorahs in their homes or publicly, thru out the world.

The Contributions of the Native American Indians

Here are excerpts from interviews of Joe Littlefeather, Denville NJ resident, (November 11, 2015) and Dr. Sam Beeler, Chief of the Sand Hill Cherokee Lenapee Tribe of New Jersey as well as a very shortened version of the presentation of Tony and Marcy Langhorn (November 14, 2015).

Denville TV wishes Denville and all nation wide in the USA a Happy Beautiful Thanksgiving.
And remember the contributions of the Native American Indians to this country from the
first Thanksgiving Feast, before and after.
And let us not forget the service men and women that serve our nation, overseas. May they have a beautiful Thanksgiving (permitted) and may they be safe.

Native American Indian Heritage Celebration Great Falls National Park

The day long celebration, at Paterson Great Falls, this past Saturday, November 21, 2015, hosted by the Sandhill Lenape  and Cherokee Tribe of New Jersey, commemorating Native American Indian Heritage Month, was an incredibly memorable and exhilarating day. The event was supported and assisted by Park Rangers of Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park.

(Paterson Great Falls, in 2011, was transferred to the Federal government’s National Parks System. For more info on Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park look up http://www.nps.gov )

Gratitude was also given, by the Sand Hill Native American Indian Tribe, to the city of Paterson, for it’s support of this Commemorative Event of Native American Indian Heritage Month.
