Hello to our viewers.
Let us, Denville Community Television, take the opportunity to wish all our viewers a Healthy and Happy New Year.
We have a new DCTV show airing on Cablevision Public Access Channel (21 in Denville) as of December 23, 2009. Dana and Lisa Foreman captured through video and edited the profound “Highlights of Denville Historical Society Holiday Pageant” that occurred in Denville’s The Church of the Savior on Tuesday evening, December 15, 2009. Dana Foreman edited the show into two parts, Part 1 and Part 2; you shall be able to continue to view them on the next two following Wednesdays, January 6 and January 13, 2010 from 7:00- 7:30 PM
The Denville Historical Society has played a very active roll in the Township in gathering and preserving the historical knowledge and legacy of Denville. The Society has been chartered since 1971 through the efforts of the P.R.I.D.E. Committee of Denville. In 1979 the Denville Historical Society purchased the landmark Charter Savings and Loan building. In 1981 the Landmark building was moved to it’s present location on Diamond Spring Road opposite the St Francis Health Resort and next to the newly renovated Denville Library, becoming the permanent home of the Denville Historical Society. Presently, at the Denville Historical Society Museum, you can view the newly constructed permanent exhibit on Denville history, from 1600’s onward. The museum is open Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
You can read Denville History in the following two books;
Reflections of Denville by Charles M. toeLaer
and
Images of America DENVILLE by Vito Bianco
Both books are available for sale at the museum.
