Denville MAC Strings Concert on Cablevision in Memory of Nick Picciano

Presently there is a new program on Denville TV Cablevision, Denville MAC Strings Concert, airing Wednesday on Channel 21 (Public Access) at 7:00 – 7:30 PM. This strings program is made available by Denville MAC (Municipal Alliance Committee) for the children ( and adults) of Denville to replace the extracurricular music program cut from the school program due to budget cuts.
I, with a heavy heart, declare this program in memory of a very devoted member of Denville MAC, Nicholas Picciano who dedicated and volunteered a lot of hours to Denville through MAC and many many other committees through the years. I found out, through his blessed family members, wife, Mary and daughter Barbara, that Nick passed away early this morning, after a month long illness. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Nick Picciano and be allowed to interview him for Cablevision Public Access Channel. Nick Picciano was a teacher, guidance counselor, vice principal and principal in the Denville School System from from 1955 to 1990. And Nick continued to serve Denville, in his, so to say, years of retirement, volunteering in so many committees. When I interviewed Nick I asked him when he slept. Nick would always meet a former student, when he walked through Denville. I consider myself privileged to have known Nick. And I also feel so devastated at the news of Nick’s too early passing. For more information on Nick’s funeral services visit Norman Dean’s Funeral Home website (in Denville) Visitation is on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Norman Deans from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM.
